Tren

Tren is a logic puzzle invented by Shinichi Aoki (Japan). The Japanese name of this puzzle means "parking" (each block is a car, and a grid is a car park). The puzzle contains a grid with numbers in some cells. The goal is to locate some blocks in the grid, having the size either 1 x 2 or 1 x 3. Each number in the grid should be part of a block, indicating the amount of the possible movements of the block. Blocks can only move in the direction of their short edge.

Cross+A can solve puzzles from 4 x 4 to 30 x 30.

There are variations of the Tren puzzle. Some of them can be solved by Cross+A.

Tren+ (also known as "New Tren"):

• Each block contains exactly one number or a question sign (unknown number), indicating the amount of its possible movements.
• All cells that are not part of any block must be connected horizontally or vertically.

Ghost Tren:

• Blocks can also be placed without any numbers, with no restrictions on their ability to move.
• All cells that are not part of any block must be connected horizontally or vertically.
